You've seen them all over the internet. Home based businesses are everywhere. They all promise the same thing. Then why do so many of us fail at getting it?

Everybody wants to make more money. Many times when people join an online company they do so in hopes of making money fast because the product "sounds good". Often times the one joining the company won't even go as far as trying the product they just bought! How can you actually refer people to buy this product when you haven't tried it yourself? It's kind of like telling your friends to try a local restaurant that you've never eaten at before. These people are working on the "hype" and not thinking long haul. We discover that these people often quit soon after joining, simply because they don't believe in the company. This is reason number one.

Once people quit they often quit on the whole opportunity in itself. This is when people really go down hill. There are so many of us that lack the self confidence in ourselves to make it work. It's especially true in the beginning stages of your learning curve. We all go through learning curves. Whether it be learning a new job working for someone else or working for ourselves we need to accept this, work hard, and move forward. It is much harder to do this when you work for yourself. Reason number three is having the wrong expectations going into the business. This is all about being misinformed before joining a company. What I think is helpful, and I've done this myself, is make a dream book. Buy a little photo album and put in there pictures of all the things you're proud of achieving. Whether its catching that 42" fish, graduating college, running that marathon, writing a book, whatever. Put those moments in that album. Then, think of the things you want in life, like a new boat, that BMW you've always dreamed of, moving to Hawaii. Put in pictures of those that inspire you, whether it be a relative, friend, celebrity. What drives you? This might sound cheesey to you, but not only does it work for me, but every other successful person I know out there has one. Some have pictures on their fridge and around their work area. This promotes a positive work environment, and will uplift you at a moments glance.
