| Attention Women - Start Your Online Business Part 3 |
|
How can women create their own brand in their line of business? This is the final part in a series on steps to take in starting their own business. Branding is the final step.
There are several important steps to take when starting your own online business. Initially, you need to do a lot of research, and select your niche carefully. You also have to make detailed plans for your business, including a good internet marketing plan. Branding is an important part of making your new online business successful. What is branding? Here is a simple definition for branding: creating a unique identity for your business. There are different definitions for branding out there, but it all comes down to the same thing: What is the identity of your business? There are two levels of branding that I want to talk about. First, you need to create a visible uniqueness to your business. Secondly, you need to create an invisible uniqueness to your business. Let me explain the difference between these two ideas. Step 4: Create a visible brand. Give your business a unique name. You can, and should, perform a trademark search to make sure that no one else is using that name. When you register the business name, you need to determine if your business will be a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation. Another important part of branding your business is getting a professional logo that bears your business' name. You can use this logo to help brand your product or services. It will be on your letters, advertisements, and your website. By the way, you should register your domain name! Once your domain name is set you should get to work on designing a unique website. This website going to say a lot about you and your business. Having a quality website is absolutely imperative to your success. In addition to a web address, if you want to have a live location for your business, you should have the renting or leasing issues taken care of at this point. Set the date that you can be open for business, and advertise to the local area. You can also announce the launch of your new website with a press release. The most visible part of your brand will be your website, logo, slogan, and your business name. The next step once your business starts to get off of the ground is the invisible part of your brand: the quality of your products and services. The visible brand will get customers to come to you, but it is your "invisible branding" that will get customers to come back. Your brand will create a feeling among your customers. Your brand might feel expensive, or cheap, to them. The level of customer service will determine whether or not clients feel comfortable coming back for more products or services. Customers can tell whether or not you really know your subject matter. The way you run your business will reflect who you are, and this is an intangible thing that customers will "see." They will mentally create their own picture of your business in their mind based on these and other factors. The image that you create for your business goes beyond a flashy website, and clever slogan. Branding truly begins once people experience doing business with you. |
