That will mean they'll be making $50 monthly.

What if their conversion rate rose to 10%? They'll be getting $500 monthly with the same number of visitors.

But what if with this conversion rate of 10% they only manage to get 10 visitors monthly? They'll make a profit of only $5!

Now, the point I have tried to stress is that you can't succeed without high quality traffic to your website. And in case you don't know, the quality of your websites traffic will affect your conversion rate positively without any extra effort from you.
