If you are an experienced Internet Marketer, you probably have at least one site that is nothing more than a single sales page. If you are new to Internet Marketing, you may or may not have such a site by now. Still, at some point in time of your online marketing venture you are going to have to develop an "Authority Site" or a web site that provides quality content for all of your readers.

The key word there, in case you may have missed or dismissed it, is Quality. While it may be true, that Content is King when it comes to authority site, poor content, like a bad king, will do more harm than good. Only by providing the quality content that your readers are looking for will be able to get them to come back to your primary niche sites.

These sites will be important to you if you want to be able to monetize more efficiently. Rather than a single page promoting a single product, you now have the opportunity to promote many different items from the comfort and convenience of one single page. Whether your main objective is to get people to purchase your products or click on ads, you have to have readers to accomplish that. Nothing will be sold if there is nobody going to your site in the first place.

The content on your site should serve as a platform that takes people to the reasonable conclusion which is ultimately purchasing your product in most cases. However, you not only need an incentive for people to come to your site. You need to provide them with a reason for coming to your site, staying on your site and coming back sometime as well. All of this can easily be accomplished with well-written and informative content on your website.

Nothing is as easy as the "Build it and they will come ... make it and they will buy" that many "experts" tell you it is. This will allow you to gather the necessary information to take your product to your audience rather than just hoping that your audience will come back to you. Again, if the quality and value of this content merits it, your audience will be more receptive to your future offers. If the quality is not so great, they may or may not be receptive.

If you want to sell something to someone, you have to first convince them that what you have to offer is worthwhile. Not very many people will spend money out of their pocket to find out whether or not it is worth the price. If you convince them that it is before you even attempt to sell them something, they will be much more receptive and willing to part with their cash when that time comes.
