| Creating a Successful Website Business |

If you're looking for information on creating a successful website internet business this is a great article to start with. I touch on a couple of areas that you may not have thought about, but will want to include in your planning.
If you are just starting to think about starting a website or internet business and want to begin successfully without the usual dips caused by trial and error this discussion will help you to begin that journey. For more detailed information on each subject just click on the navigation bar related to that subject to your left. You have probably been doing research on the market that you want to enter. Even talked to friends, family and co-workers about what they think and maybe to someone else about the start-up costs. But, in the end, you will be the one to make the decision. I just want to be sure that you also think about a couple of other factors that sometimes get overlooked when we get excited about something. TIME If you are going to need to hire people to do part of the work for you be sure and put that down too. And, (of course it wouldn't be that easy), figure out about how long you think it will take to accomplish or purchase each item on the list. If you know that you need to take a class that will last a year before you can become fully operable in your new website business, then you are not going to be successful if you quit your job and start today. A planning strategy will give you an opportunity to see not only what you need, but also how long it will take. This plan will also come in handy when you start getting all those unsolicited "get rich quick," "you can do it now," software ads that are flashy and almost make you think that it will work. When you get something like that go back to your strategy plan and see where that piece of "glitz" fits into your plan. This year? Next year? Never? Don't be swayed or diverted from your plan. I know that is easy to say, I've even wound up with some stuff that looked good, no better than good, in the ad (what a disappointment). My goal is to make sure that you don't wind up with as much stuff as I got learning the hard way. MARKETING STRATEGY It won't make a lot of sense to you right now, but the biggest part of your website marketing strategy is maintenance of your website, ezines and newsletters. Remember, this medium is about communication and unlike storefronts where the guy with the shiniest bicycle draws the biggest crowds. In this medium, the guy with the most up-to-date information and subtle selling techniques wins. And the win is big, not just in terms of selling a product, but also in establishing long term relationships with a customer base that is spread world wide. I really didn't think about this much until I recently got a customer from Ireland. Of course, everything is done virtually, but what fun I have! And, you will too. |
