They send the email to you and pay you a couple of cents an email and pocket what is left over, which for the most part is one hundred percent of the take since most folks grow tired of reading emails and never stick around long enough to reach the payment threshold and cash out.

Taking Surveys for Cash - This is basically the same deal as reading emails for money. You are usually limited to the number of surveys that you are eligible for and thus it will take months and months before you can reach the payment threshold and cash out. Likewise, the company makes money off of providing statistical data to companies and pockets the proceeds hoping that you grow tired of signing up for surveys. Even if you do desire to be diligent and follow through to get to that pot of gold, which is usually thirty dollars or so, your time would be better spent flipping burgers or even collecting aluminum cans on the side of the road for some quick cash.

True internet marketing for me is no different than building any other business. You have products and different lines of product types that you sell or market. These are your wares no different than you local convenience store that sells bread and milk.
