Finding a Profitable Website Niche Idea on the Internet
Stuck on trying to find a niche? Don't think that all the good website niches have been taken. This one method can help you locate thousands of ideas.

Trying to find a profitable niche can be very time consuming even though the ideas that people use to build a niche website seem to fall on their lap. Don't believe that all the good niches have been taken and it is too late to build a site because of a lot of competition. Here are some tips to help you find your website niche idea.

eBay is a great place to start looking for different niches. On eBay's home page you see many of the categories that people are selling products in. All of the listed categories have sub-categories to them. Start looking at the sub-categories to help you in finding an idea. There are thousands of products to review, take your time looking.

If you have absolutely no idea for any web site niche, here is where it may be time consuming. Take one or two of the categories that interest you and start looking at what is for sale. Just remember, even though it is for sale on eBay does not mean that it will be profitable for you to sell or promote on your website. Further down the article I give you some ideas to see if they could be used to create a website.

If you do have a slight idea for any niches, finding them may be a little easier for you. Just do a search and see what shows up in the results. How many are listed? How many have bids on them already? What is the average selling price for the item? Is there many people selling the same item? If many people are selling the same item, does the seller have more to offer (less shipping, a freebie included)? If the seller is a power seller, would you be able to compete with them?

Many beginners may pick only one idea and get frustrated when that does not work out. Try to think of three or four different ideas. This way you can compare the different areas and see which one would be more profitable for you. Your profit-margin will be much different selling a $50.00 item to selling a $150.00 item. So when comparing products, try to stick close to the same selling price for your different ideas.

Looking at the best selling items can also help you, but don't make the mistake of trying to promote the newest hot product. Just because it is a hot product today does not mean that within the next couple of months it still will be one, then you will be back at square one trying to find another product to promote. You could spend more time and money promoting the "hot product" for a few months then what it would take to promote products that consumers use over and over again.

Using ebay can be a great place to start looking for ideas, but keep in mind that they may sell great there, but will you be able to sell and/or promote them on a website. Take a look around on the Internet also and see if your ideas are out there. You may not have as much competition as you thought that you would. If you do locate others selling/promoting the products, how are they doing it to make money online? Do they have different products that tie in together? Has the website been up for a long time or are they just starting out also?

Take your time with searching for your website niche idea. Your time spent now could be the difference of you building a website that may last for many years and you receiving some nice profit from it or building many websites and generating little to no income from them.

Don't think eBay is the only place to look to help you locate ideas for creating a website. To help you think outside the box, here are many more ways to help you find your niche to get you going on building a web site.
