In today's world of instant gratification and isolation it is very easy to be reading some exciting copy or watching a video and make a purchase of this e-course or that training package and think this is it, this is what I need to finally make it and be free.

Don't do it to yourself, don't put yourself through the roller coaster of hope, doubt, despair and a hurting wallet. The truth is unless you have been successful in some other field or have the right mindset you will not make it. So don't get caught up in the hype, if you have to put this latest thing on a credit card and haven't got the funds to clear the balance of your card when it is due THEN DON'T BUY IT! Wake up. You are only going to be worse off. I am speaking from experience!

Ok so now that I have you deflated, I will give you some hope! You can be a success online but not without a plan. I am going to give you a basic one, which might help:

1. Improve yourself; to get more you must be more. Read books like "The Law of Success" by Napoleon Hill (it predates the much more well known Think and Grow Rich but is a real in depth step by step process for learning how to be a success).
2. Get disciplined, read a chapter a week and write your key learning points down and how you are going to apply them and live your life differently.
3. Decide how much you want to make for the upcoming year and how you are going to get it - your business plan.
4. Work out if the price of your product x the number of potential customers is going to give you that figure in step 3.
5. If not then stop before you lose more money
6. If you are sure you are on a winner then you may have to get more creative and find ways to interact with potential customers for longer than the reading of a sales page or finding other customers and people to promote your product for you. Adjust your plan.
7. If you are still going and have done step 6 then just keep following your plan, everyday just one thing at a time. One step at a time. You must put in continuous and persistent effort.

The 7 steps above are not a definitive list, but they will help. If you have not got a product or website then just concentrate on steps 1 and 2. As you grow you will be more open to and attract opportunity to you and be able to take advantage of it. A great tree starts with a tiny seed.

Plant the seeds first, then create the plan, and then work the plan. Simple. If there is interest I may expand on some of the points above with more detail.
