First of all, take a breather. If you've already taken a serious look into making money online, you'll have found a tremendous amount of information at your hot little fingertips. You want to get started in internet marketing but, like so many just starting out, you're overwhelmed with information overload. What you need to do is take some time to sort through everything you've accumulated -- all the learning materials that have undoubtedly come your way during your search to get started. It would be time well invested if you sort through all of your e-books, articles, reports etc and categorize them for future reference. After you've spent some time researching and learning, you'll want to pick a course of action to get started. This is where most newcomers to the field end up failing. They fail to simply act. Just choose a topic and a method to make money from it, and jump in. The worst that can happen is you won't make any money, but you'll learn so much from your mistakes. Then you just move on to try another method or another niche. If you're committed, eventually you will find something that works for you. It seems much easier for someone to tell you to stop reading and start acting, versus being the one who is now faced with wondering HOW to get going in the first place. That's why it's so important to get organized, so you can get full benefit from the material you've collected. Now even though many people will be encouraging you to simply get out there and do something, I can't stress enough that you should at least be knowledgeable about the method(s) you want to employ and the niche(s) you will be promoting. It's very easy to get excited by reading about how much money everyone else is making. Likely, you've felt in a state of panic that you MUST get on the money-making bandwagon right away or you'll lose out. Well that's simply not true. You can take a few days, few weeks, or even a few months to prepare yourself and/or your product(s), and when you come back, the Internet will still be here and so will the customers. Internet marketing is not going to go away, and neither is it going to become so saturated that you'll never be able to make money. You need to create a balance between learning enough material to get started and simply acting upon what you've learned. You should always be learning anyways -- it's not a one time course. |
