Today in my email I got several offers including these:

• 6 Figure Income in 2008 $295 marked down to $49.95.

• Huge Success Online $197 --with so much stuff to learn it would take me months to go through it all.

• Think Outside of the Box for only $99 marked down temporarily to $77. Make $20,000 a month within six months and learn how not to be scammed.

You get the picture. How does one know what is real and what is not? And how does one keep from going into overload?

I think the best advice I got today was from a newsletter that I get most days. (Of course the man, PV Reymond, wants to sell me one of his guides, but at least he sends helpful information.) I was advised to follow the chronological sequence to build my business and then he listed what he felt needed to be done in what order. His list made sense and I copied it out so that I can follow it. I hope that Mr. Reymond does not mind if I share his info in brief. He has 12 points listed below:

Let's put it this way, let's say that you want to build a profitable Internet business, I mean in the way it really works. Here is his chronological sequence:

1. A computer
2. Internet access
3. The idea about what you'll do
4. A product to sell
5. Domain name
6. Web hosting
7. Website, or squeeze page, or blog
8. Autoresponder
9. Sales letter
10. Thank you page
11. Payment processor
12. Traffic

His point is that you should stay focused and not jump around, as you will get mixed up. Just do each step in sequence. I.e., you cannot have an internet business unless you have a computer, etc. I do not know that I totally agree with his order, but at least it is a starting point to get going without getting confused and ready to give up.

Another good suggestion someone made was to spend 50% of your time in learning and 50% in doing what you learned. I know that if I do not practice what I am learning, that I forget it and do not get back to it, sometimes not ever remembering it at all. It is easy to get overwhelmed if you try too many things at the same time. Do not try to do too many things at once. Learn one thing before moving on to something else.

I know for me on a limited budget, I cannot afford to purchase every offer that comes along, so I do research and read a lot of information. I have found that a few things that I purchased have been invaluable, but most has been to assist someone else in their quest to make money. The one that I spend the most on, I got very reliable information that I could understand. There are many free e-books out there that are helpful. Print them out and apply them before you move on to something else. You might find that after trying them, you discover they are not too useful, but at least you gave it a chance and now know that it did not work for you at that time. Then move on to something else.

I have read where some people are doing about a dozen different things at the same time. That is just too much for me and would have me totally unfocused! If I tried to do that much every day, I would get so overwhelmed that I would probably accomplish nothing. Maybe that strategy would work for you, but do one thing at a time until you learn it. Then you can add more if you wish, until you have reached your full potential. Just keep at it and don't get discouraged.
