Want to really succeed as a marketer? Get a life outside of IM. This article explains why.
Okay, it's rant time again. This is something that just drives me crazy about marketers and it's one of the main reasons why they fail at internet marketing . Maybe if more would take this advice they wouldn't have so much trouble. What advice am I talking about? Get a life outside of Internet marketing. What exactly does that mean? Keep reading and you'll find out. The majority of marketers, when they first attempt to earn a living online, for whatever reason, they hit the Internet marketing "make money online" niche. They think it's easy. Guess what? It's NOT easy. It's the hardest niche to break into. Do you know why? Well, if not, I'll explain it as simply as I can. When you are trying to show people how to make money online, the first thing any sensible person is going to ask you is how much money YOU'VE made. When you tell them that you haven't made anything, they're going to simply reply, "Then why should I believe that you can show ME how to make money?" And let's be honest, if you're first starting out, you HAVEN'T made a dime. So you have ZERO credibility. That is why the IM niche is so tough. But it's more than just that. Getting traffic is hard as heck. There are so many make money sites out there. To give you an example of this, and mind you, I'm very successful in the IM niche, a typical article of mine in this niche gets me about 20 to 30 views. Well, the other day, I wrote an article for a niche totally unrelated to IM and the number of views I got were almost 7 times. That's right...almost 200 views in ONE DAY. The amount of work that you have to put into non IM niches is infinitely less than what you have to put into your IM promotion. It's not even close, especially if you get a hold of a really hot niche. And trust me, there are plenty of them out there. So please do yourself a favor. Before you beat your head against a stone wall trying to make a living at Internet marketing selling "make money" products, get yourself a business plan, find a non IM niche, and go make things easy for yourself.
