There are no get rich quick online businesses for real (normal) people. You can, over time create a decent income through any one of many online home based businesses. The two keys to protecting yourself are search and research.

Use any search engine you want and type in a phrase such as "earn money from home", "work at home", or use any terms you can think of relating to home based businesses. Also, check into home business opportunity message boards and forums. There is a wealth of information available. Even more importantly, many businesses that ar scams or are questionable will be cussed and discussed.

Watch out for any companies that want so sell you their "private" list of home business opportunities. Many of the jobs are non-existent,or require a start up fee, or training sessions, or they want you to pay for a home start up kit. A legitimate job will never require money fro you to work for them from your home.

Concerning the online business, be careful of the phrases "act now", "the price doubles tomorrow", "fast ground floor pre-start up", or any of the myriad other catch phrases that insist on you getting your credit card out NOW to guarantee you a top position.

Remember. Search for the business opportunity that you can feel comfortable promoting. Using forums, message boards, search engines, research the business. Try to find a persons name, "Joe Blow a 20 year veteran of the IM business". Plug his name into a search engine, add the word "scam". You may be surprised at what comes back. Try the same search using the company's name.

A decent online business will require some fee. Even the FREE business websites will normally require a domain name and hosting fee. There are a number of good online businesses that offer a free start-up website. You can and will make money-over time.

The main ingredient is how much effort you put into promoting the site through ads, flyers, etc. Now, after you've joined,there will usually be lessons (with and without audio/video) to assist you in your business. You will or should have a sponsor. Some are good, some are great (bless mine) and some are so-so.

Your sponsor and their upline sponsor should be readily accessible for answering questions and to properly guide you in any further expenditures. The more money you invest (within reason), the more income you will receive in return.

You can make a decent income online, but it will require patience and time. Do not jump into the first opportunity no matter how good it sounds. Continue to search and research until you are really comfortable with the company you have chosen to join.

Look for time in business, online free training, active sponsor support and importantly- how much out-of-pocket investment they want from you. Some good ones start with as little as $10 one-time or monthly and they go up from there. I wouldn't dive into anything asking more than a couple hundred as a one time fee.
