Have you ever thought to yourself 'Is there a perfect business?' I know I sure have! In fact, I've dreamed about actually having the perfect business for many years. So, I thought I'd share a few things that I've learned along the way and trust that you'll gather some helpful insight as to what your perfect business is and how you can get one started when the time is right for you.
Have you ever thought to yourself 'Is there a perfect business?' I know I sure have! In fact, I've dreamed about actually having the perfect business for many years. So, I thought I'd share a few things that I've learned along the way and trust that you'll gather some helpful insight as to what your perfect business is and how you can get one started when the time is right for you. I've been in Corporate America for over a decade and have also been in several business of my own on top of that. It seems I've done everything from sales, to real estate investing, to being in network marketing, direct sales and even having multiple passive income businesses! Wow, I've done a lot and I'm still in my 30's! I've looked at traditional brick and mortar business (like the one my parents still own and work 7 days a week and sometimes 100 hours per week), franchises, and everything else you can think of. Know what conclusion I came to? Not one of those in and of themselves met my criteria for a perfect business. So what are my criteria for the so-called perfect business? Here they are. My requirements for the ultimate business: 1) I am the boss. If the thing succeeds or fails, ultimately it is my responsibility. 2) It must be something I can do anywhere on the face of the earth (especially from the comfort of my own home!). 3) It won't cost me a fortune to start or maintain. The total investment must be under $5,000 (and that's a stretch for some opportunities by the way). 4) Low risk of start up capital. This really ties in with #3. 5) It won't require me to work 80-100 hours/week or even 7 days/week. It absolutely must have an enormous amount of leverage. I want to do work one time and then let that work for me over and over-even while I sleep! There you have my 'wish list' for the perfect business. So, have I found it yet? Yes!! Actually I've found several businesses that meet all or almost all of the criteria. For example, one of the businesses is based on many of the principles of the '4 Hour Work-Week' by Tim Ferriss. In that business, I put up around $500 for the rights to the business, click the mouse a few times on my laptop, and BAM!! People either join before ever calling me, or call with a few questions before joining, and I make hundreds and thousands over and over!
