| To Be Or Not to Be a Soft Sell Marketer? |
|
Does it work for you to market from your heart? From your soul? From the depth of your care for your potential customer? Or does it best satisfy your needs to make as much money as possible, no matter what it takes to do so? Both styles can be hugely successful. That's a fact. But only you can decide where your consciousness and conscience are most comfortable, most at home.
The original online marketing crowd pretty much came from business, marketing, sales, management, and finance. They all felt comfortable and at home in the world of money. And, in fact, most arrived on the online marketing scene with money to spare and a zeal to make more - lots more. With that sales savvy came the slam bang hard sell super sell tactics that sometimes paints the potential customer as a "moron" if they don't snatch up the latest and greatest whiz bang gotta have it or I'll never make another dime online ever again new product. And then...then came the growing care-giver, service provider crowd - all those whose interest in money has been second to their desire to help people attain better lives. All that hard sell sales copy was a terrible fit for these heart-based folks - and for their potential customers or clients. It was clear to them - there had to be another way. And so was born the soft sell marketing approach where selling is spiritual service and the buyer/seller relationship is mutually caring and respectful. So - to be or not to be a soft sell marketer? What does your heart tell you? |
