| What Knowledge And Tools Do You Need To Make A Online Business A Success? |
|
What skills and tools do you need to build a successful online Internet marketing business? What are the pitfalls? How to recognize scams? Answering these questions can take months if you don't know where to start and which opportunities are valid.
If you do a online search for "online business" you will get a million hits and find that most of them are scams trying to get your money while promising you a "thousands" of dollars while only working a couple hours a day. They make it sound so easy! Whether you found site's promoting stuffing envelopes, work at home assembly jobs, taking online surveys, or buying a ebook which promises to teach you "everything" you need to know!! After many years of looking and buying a few of those ebooks and signing up for online survey's, I didn't find anything that would be considered valid. I realized that money could be made on the internet, but it wasn't going to be as simple as those ebooks and websites promised. I realized that I would need some knowledge, skills and tools to be competitive and make money online. So, what knowledge, skills and tools "are" needed? I am assuming a person who has found this article has a basic understanding of the computers, internet, ISP's, seach engines, etc. What is needed is more specialized knowledge, for example, what does PPC (pay per click), mean? What is traffic and how do I get it? What is a landing page? How do I get to be affiliate? What is HTML? Do I need to know it? Do I need a webpage and how do I build one or buy one? A few years ago, I learned how to build webpage's. I learned HTML and I could load pictures, add content, create links, and I learned how to do meta-tags. However, what I didn't know was how to drive traffic to my website, or where to find products to sell. So for me, it has been a two step process. I learned how to get published on the web, but I couldn't figure out how to get people to visit my website or what to sell once they got there. There are several tools, such as overture, which is a tool used by online marketers to do key word searches. They find niche markets on the Internet, and with those key words they use various methods such as, pay per click sites. They bid on the keywords they have generated and then when somebody clicks on their link, they get charged for each click. Now, when somebody does click on their link, they need to convert that traffic (customer) into a buyer. This where learning how to write copy comes in. The process sounds complicated, but in reality its fairly simple. The hard part is learning the steps necessary to get to your goal. Believe me though, it isn't as simple as many of those websites you have found say. To boil it down, a person needs to learn the tools necessary to research hot markets on the web. Then when they are identified, we need to learn how to attract those people who are interested in those markets to come to our website, or landing page. This is called finding and driving traffic. The final step is learning how to write good marketing copy to induce them to buy your product or service. I found a good program that I am using with good results. It has been teaching me the steps I have outlined in this article. What most websites fail to mention though is that there are intangible, personal characteristics that are needed to truly succeed, whether its online or off-line. Andrew Carnegie said, "People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity." This is one of the most important qualities a person needs to have, motivation. If we can't motivate ourselves to do more, to dream more, to change our thinking and our beliefs, then we will most likely remain stuck in whatever circumstance we are in at the moment. Napoleon Hill says, "Desire is starting place for all achievement". So, how do we get and stay motivated? There are a ton of motivational websites on the net. In addition, in Napoleon Hill's book "Think and Grow Rich", he has a step by step guide showing us how to build desire and motivation. While getting the knowledge, obtaining the needed skills, and using the tools are important, in the long run, our qualities of character will determine just how we use those skills once obtaining and how much money we will be able to generate with them. In my bio you will find the a website I use. It is a honest program, more interested in teaching you all you need to know, than getting into your pocket book. It's called "ProfitLance". It doesn't promise you something for nothing. It will teach you knowledge, skills and tools you need to be successful on the Internet. It will answer all the questions regarding "how" people make money online, and "what" we need to do to make money also. It is not a quick rich scheme. Right up front, his main goal is to teach you the skills necessary while providing you the tools to do so. It is a content rich site, and you might get intimidated, but just take it one step at a time, and very soon you will be making more money that you ever thought possible. Remember: Desire, motivation, and work will make it happen! Good luck and have fun building your dream. |
