This can be referred to as implantation bleeding, it basically consists of very light bleeding that occurs when a fertilized egg starts to implant into the lining of the uterus called the endometrium. Implantation bleeding occur between six and twelve days after ovulation. If you have been keeping a close eye on menstrual cycles and are aware of the date of your ovulation, an implantation bleeding is very telling, and coud be one of the very early signs of pregnancy, meaning that you have conceived. Approximately one third of women experience an implantation bleeding, according to the most research. The bleeding itself is generally more like a very light spotting, which can last anywhere up to two days. More often women will notice just a few drops of blood in their underwear. The colour of the spotting may vary, but the blood that is expelled is most old blood and can be dark brown or pinkish. This is due to the blood mixing with mucus. Some women will notice some cramping with implantation bleeding. The uterine wall is rich in blood and tissue, and it is no wonder that some bleeding and cramping can take place when a fertilized egg implants itself there, in preparation for nine months of pregnancy! Cramping with implantation bleeding does not indicate a miscarriage. At the same time, it's important to be aware that miscarriages take place in the early stages of pregnancy, generally before a missed period. This is commonly called a chemical pregnancy. If you have noticed some implantation bleeding, you can go ahead and take a home pregnancy test immediately. Some tests are very sensitive and if your body has already produced adequate levels of hCG, the test might just be positive. You will have a much better chance of getting accurate test results if you test on the date your period was expected. Amongst these very earl signs of pregnancy, the most obvious sign that is frequently overlooked by women of all ages is the missed or late period. A menstrual period that is late, and subsequently does not turn up at all is one of the most obvious and reliable early pregnancy signs! If your monthly cycle has been regular and you ovulated when your period was due, you should take a pregnancy test on the same day. This should give you a reliable indication as to whether or not you are pregnant. |
