It doesn't matter what your business is online you need traffic. Ideally, you need lots of it, but you also need the right kind of traffic. You want visitors coming to your website who are going to buy your products or your services. This is known as "targeted' traffic, and these four methods are designed to do just that; get you targeted traffic to your website.

Method 1.

Article marketing. Do your keyword search and find out what people are searching for, and then write an article about it. Try and identify problems your market is having, and then write and submit your articles to some article directories. Article directories are huge hubs of information and many people go to these directories to find answers to their problems. At the end of the article in your resource box, all you need do is drop a slink to your site asking your visitor to click through if they want any more information on the subject. They usually do, and if your article is good, they are going to click through.

Method 2.

Similar to the above method, go to a website like "Yahoo Answers" and find out what questions people in your market are asking. Answer as many as you can, and in a small handful of your responses, leave a link back to your site, and encourage people to check it out if they want more detailed answers or explanations. Don't leave a link in every answer you leave, and only answer a question when you genuinely have something of value to offer to the conversation. Do this right, and you are going to see some very fast, free and targeted traffic.

Method 3.

Video marketing. Over fifty per cent of content being viewed on the net on a daily basis is video, with US users spending an average of thirty minutes watching video a day. Use this to your advantage and create small power point videos with a screen capture program like Camtasia to produce small videos that you can submit to video sharing websites across the net. Leave a link back to your website in the description of your videos and submit your video to a number of video sharing sites. (Hint there are more of these sites than just Youtube).

Method 4.

Set up a blog, and a twitter account, and update each every second day or so. Keep fresh content going up on these things, and point back to some of your articles and website so as to give them a little bit of "page rank juice" and more visitors. This is going to help you a great deal in terms of search engine optimization and can often bring highly targeted visitors.
