Avoid Making These Four Free Web Traffic Mistakes |
|
I was really busy and couldn't find time to write articles for targeted traffic. This was my way of getting traffic to my squeeze page and thus keep my daily stats up. After a few days, my kids started to do what pre-teen boys usually do when they get bored; they switched to playing computer games and listening to Radio Disney online.
Over the Summer I had the bright idea to put my kids to work surfing the web for me. They were going to sit at their computers and build up my credits to several traffic exchanges. The idea was to have them surf for a few hours a day and radically boost my traffic with this method.
I scolded them for slacking off and later realized that they did the same thing I was doing. Being the introspective type, I began to take stock of all the benefits of the type of traffic generating systems I regularly use.
Article marketing was steady, free, easily tracked on EzineArticles.com and offered extremely targeted traffic to my squeeze pages.
Blogging was easy to maintain, did not take a lot of time, offered easy responses, great back links to my squeeze page and connected to my social networking pages as well.
My videos were very well received, got great responses, looked professional and was easy to distribute.
My forum posts were quick to produce brought great contacts and built my reputation in the eyes of my peers. I was able to jot down more but you get the idea. So I now had to ask myself why I was not being consistent in executing these great strategies every day?
I realized that I did not respect the very methods that were the life blood of my income. I did not take them seriously because they cost me zero bucks. I spend thousands each year on training, research and tools to make my business profitable. I teach the idea of Return On Investment (ROI) as the benchmark of a profitable campaign, I now realized how counter productive my preconceptions were. If you are using free or even paid marketing methods for growing web traffic, stop and examine your feelings about the free methods you use. Consider the possibility that you do not respect the processes.
1. "I'm getting something for nothing" - Do you feel that you get bored easily when executing your marketing strategies?
2. It's just free information so my prospects won't take it seriously - When you create your free e-books, do you take the time to craft it as if the work were selling for a lot of money?
3. This can't possibly work for me I don't have time to mess with this stuff. - When you start a new campaign and things don't seem to be moving at the speed you'd like it to; do you move on in frustration to some other free marketing method in hopes of success?
I'm not good at writing so I can't do this. - How many times have you rushed out a blog or article in hopes of meeting your goal but not really put your best ideas into it? When the time to produce comes around you make excuses to speed through it.
The secret to avoiding these four web traffic mistakes is to judge your efforts by the number of subscribers you get into your auto-responder daily and the number of conversions to sales each week. There will be a time when you check you PayPal account prior to sitting down to a web marketing session. |
