For many, increasing website traffic seems like a huge task. Actually it isn't bad at all - there are many ways this can be done. Whether you want to do it all for free or spend a little money, this isn't as hard as you think.
One great way to increase website traffic is to get on the many different message boards out there. If you love to write about subjects you are good with and love the ongoing conversation a message board gives then type away. The way to do this is either put in your link as long as it is allowable. If it is not allowed then just slip it into conversation. Many times this can done in a very nice way. The one thing you do not want to do is go around writing stuff that has nothing to do with the conversation. This is not only considered poor taste, but spamming. If you are caught spamming then you may be lucky enough to get away with a warning. Many times you will just be banned and won't even know it until you go to login to the site and cannot get back in. When wanting to increase website traffic one must know that this will take time and you have to be patient. It took time to build the site and it will take time for the people to come. Many times free ads can be posted all over the internet. If you are a good writer and can keep it simple then you should do well. Blogging is also a fantastic way to go. For those who blog and can keep up on multiple sites this can be a great traffic drawer. Just remember to provide actual quality and keep it to the conversation on hand. If you read something you really like on another person's blog, then comment on it. Many times in the comment section they allow your URL and you are off on your way running. Many love to blog on what their websites are about. This is a subject you know well of course and you may be able to help someone. If you are very helpful you could even get your own following. By helping others and being good at what you does the word will travel fast? I would think it does. Another thing to look into to increase your website traffic is the free link exchange programs. There are many of these out there and it will not hurt to get your link in as many places as possible. If you feel there is too much to do then you may want to think about hiring an assistant to help you. This position does not have to be full time. It can even be a couple of hours a week and you will be surprised the amount of traffic it will increase to your site. Getting your website listed in as many directories as possible is also a great push for the website. You can use keywords and phrases. There are even sites out there that will help you pick the best keywords and phrases to match what your website is about. |
