The Appearance and Quality of Your URL Or Link is What Drives Paying Traffic
Did you ever wonder why your links are all over the place, they are NOT being clicked? Do you spend hours and hours trying to generate exposure for your product or opportunity, only to be disappointed by your end results? Would you like to get your links clicked more often, and then have more of that traffic convert into a sale or subscriber?

First of all, let me start by asking you a question. Which of the following would you be more likely to click? opportunity(dot)com or opportunity(dot)com/affiliate/id=02u5095f6? I am willing to bet my next two months of income that you would absolutely click on the first link, rather than the second. Why is this a matter of such great importance? Well there are quite a few reasons, so lets cover them.

The fist thing you need to think about, is when your link is extremely long, and not able to be clicked, then it must be copied and pasted, the link can and often times will be broken(Common problem when using online classified advertising that does not allow hyper-links and in sending links in e-mail). This will result in a potential customer, client, or reader to be unable to reach your content. That would be bad for all of the obvious reasons. Further more, those really long links, if used for business generating purposes, just look very unprofessional. Your image as a business person, is an essential ingredient in your recipe for success.

The second reason for shortening your URL or link, is that you are able to hide your affiliate links, when posting them in newsgroups or forums. You spend all of that time to provide a useful and valuable answer to a question, or person in need of help, (which is all to develop credibility), only to have the potential customer see your affiliate link, and come to the conclusion that you have only offered up your advice as an enticement to buy your product. See, people must really see that you are truly making an effort to provide value, without really expecting anything in return. So those obvious affiliate links are actually hurting your credibility, more often than not.

Now we have the third reason, you can redirect any URL or link you want. Just as a simple example, if you had a service or product, but really did not have a good idea of what name or title would generate the best results, as far as traffic generating, then you could: Set the site up with one domain name or URL, then acquire a second domain name or URL and "redirect" the second one to the product or service domain. This will help you which domain name or URL your audience is more receptive to. That is called optimizing, and that term will be seen and used a lot more in my future articles, so be sure to follow up. Another reason you would want to redirect, is to use a name or title that is more easy to remember. Not everyone uses bookmarks, or saves to their favorites, so the easier your domain name, link, or URL is to remember, the more success you will see.

Bottom line, the shorter, easier to remember, most catchy, "non-affiliate" looking your domain name, link, or URL is, the better off you will be. It is fact, it is proven, it is the way it is. You can register a domain name pretty cheap now days, so go for it, extend that little extra effort to improve your conversion results. If you do not have a couple of dollars to spend, then you could use a site like TinyURL(dot)com to convert, mask, and shorten your links. A lot of people are now using TinyURL, although to me, that is beginning to stand out as an obvious attempt to conceal an affiliate link, so I personally would like to see you just spend the two or three dollars to register your own domain name.

A final note, when you are choosing your new URL, domain name, or link, do your very best to make it as relevant as possible to the content that will be provided. Carshopper(dot)com taking someone to a site about books is not efficient, and it will frustrate people.

Thank you friend, for taking an interest in greater success. The fact that you are willing to learn, and desiring to improve yourself, helps me to help you. I am grateful that you have shared your time with me.
