|
You don't always have to pay for website traffic to build your site traffic for your website. Learn these easy to implement strategies to kick start targeted traffic to your site.
Free traffic is another word for organic traffic or natural traffic. Organic traffic is the kind of traffic that you get from searchers clicking on your website URL via the left side of the search results. The results that you see on the right side of your search on, let's say Google, are called paid results. Paid results are people that are paying to be there. They are advertisements and when you click on them, the advertiser pays a small advertising fee to Google or whatever search engine you are using. So now that you know the difference between pad results and free results, we can focus on how to get free traffic. You can get free traffic in a number of ways but don't think for a second that it's as easy as some people might have you believe. Getting free traffic involved knowing SEO (search engine optimization). Free traffic comes in the form of SEO and other forms such as the following: • Web 2.0 properties • Social Media • Podcasts • Vblogs • Blogs • Web radio I'll focus on Web 2.0 properties for this article. Web 2.0 properties and things like: • Squidoo • Hub Pages • Blogger • Word Press • Lovelyish • Blog Hi • Clear Blogs • Wet Paint • Kaboodle and many, many more These are all free and are looked upon by Google and other search engines as top priority when it comes to ranking. In other words, it is very easy to rank with these types of "Blogs". However, there is a big drawback to using these types of blogs to get rankings. This is all relative of course, to what your ultimate goal is. The drawback is that you have to keep entering content to your blog almost on a daily basis to keep its ranking for your particular keyword. The reason is because the search engines will keep track of your progress or lack there of and make a calculated decision on whether or not to keep your blog ranking high or to drop it a spot or two. I have personally tested this theory and have found it to be true. I used two blogs, both with the same keywords. The blog that I kept writing to, at least every other day, kept its ranking while the other blog plummeted from number 1 to oblivion. It was completely out of the realm of the searcher. If you have good information to give to the world on a particular subject then what I suggest is registering for all of the above blogs using the same keywords. Once you do that, you'll need to add some content at least 3 times a week to each of the blogs. A little trick to get better ratings is to link all of you blogs together in a "circle" or wheel type of linking. You should link blog A to blog B and blog B to blog C and so on. Do not link backwards. The second thing you should do is write some articles and submit them to the popular article directories and make sure you link back to your blogs. These are just some basic ways to get free traffic using Web 2.0 properties |
